The Chemotherapist

Why is there no therapy in chemotherapy?

Were you or a loved one diagnosed with cancer? There are evidence-based strategies to help you or your loved one cope with cancer and cancer treatment. Dr. Pensak provides convenient video therapy while you are receiving IV chemotherapy or at any time during survivorship. She specializes in helping patients cope with symptoms and side effects associated with cancer and cancer treatment. Many patients experience anxiety, depression, sleep changes, panic, and relationship and intimacy issues after cancer. In addition, fears about recurrence and "scanxiety" (e.g. anxiety about upcoming scans) are also common.

Call her to schedule a therapy session to feel better during your next infusion or throughout the cancer journey. Dr. Pensak also sees patients with cancer in-person in her private practice. Telehealth options are available in certain circumstances so that you may be able to have a video session during your chemotherapy infusion sessions. Many patients find that therapy during infusions can be a very productive, helpful, and supportive use of time.
