Dr. Nicole Amoyal Pensak is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist that specializes in providing treatment for adults and adolescents with anxiety, depression, and coping with medical conditions. She provides evidence-based therapy based on the latest research for anxiety, depression, and chronic medical conditions and tailors treatment to the unique needs of each client. Dr. Pensak provides therapy and coaching services in her office and using video telehealth.

Dr. Pensak specializes in treating adults and adolescents with evidence-based treatment that is supported by latest research. She predominantly works from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy framework tailoring her approaches to incorporate elements of psychodynamic and interpersonal therapies. She takes a collaborative approach to determine the best treatment plan that uniquely suits each patient.

Why is there no "therapy" in Chemotherapy?
Were you or a loved one diagnosed with cancer? There are evidence-based strategies to help you or your loved one cope with cancer and cancer treatment. Dr. Pensak provides convenient video therapy while you are receiving IV chemotherapy or at any time during survivorship. She specializes in helping patients cope with symptoms and side effects associated with cancer and cancer treatment. Many patients experience anxiety, depression, sleep changes, panic, and relationship and intimacy issues after cancer. In addition, fears about recurrence and "scanxiety" (e.g. anxiety about upcoming scans) are also common.
Call her to schedule a therapy session to feel better during your next infusion or throughout the cancer journey. Dr. Pensak also sees patients with cancer in-person in her private practice. Telehealth options are available in certain circumstances so that you may be able to have a video session during your chemotherapy infusion sessions. Many patients find that therapy during infusions can be a very productive, helpful, and supportive use of time.
Dr. Pensak is a nationally recognized researcher for mobile health (mhealth) intervention development and dissemination. She is a mental health correspondent available for interviews, to teach seminars, deliver guest lectures, and provide community presentations.
